The Great Depletion

What happens when the water sustaining the West begins to disappear?
The Great Depletion follows a filmmaker and a biologist on a 112-mile journey from the snow-covered peaks of Mount Charleston and the Spring Mountains, across the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding desert, to the shores of the Colorado River.
Over six and a half days, the pair explores how the region’s growing water crisis is changing life for birds, wildlife and the communities that depend on this increasingly limited resource. Their journey connects the mountain snowpack, the desert landscape and the Colorado River to reveal how closely the future of each is intertwined.
Join us at Winchester Theater for a compelling film about water, survival and the changing environment of the American West.
