- Listen to some of the music from the show
- Learn about the characters and audition requirements

✨ Character Overview
Pam Lee – Playing age 60–70 (based on Prue Leith)
Brilliantly sharp and stylish — cutting remarks, bold glasses, bright clothes, and a heart that’s sometimes as soft as sponge.
Phil Hollinghurst – Playing age 50–55 (based on Paul Hollywood)
The silver fox with the famous handshake, reserved only for the most irresistible bakes.
Jim & Kim – Playing age 20–50, any gender
The show’s hosts, providing much of the comic relief with a light-hearted, witty, and often silly dynamic.
Izzy – Playing age 20–25
A fiercely focused Cambridge student — competitive, confident, full of sass, and determined to win.
Russell – Playing age 40–60
Meticulous and methodical, with a scientific approach to baking. Warm-hearted beneath his logical exterior.
Francesca – Playing age 30–40
An Italian baker bringing her Nonna’s recipes to Bognor. Sweet, gentle, quietly determined, and emotionally strong.
Dezza – Playing age 25–40
A laid-back vegan hipster living on a canal boat. Quirky, outspoken, and full of comic charm.
Babs – Playing age 60–70
A retired East London dinner lady — no-nonsense, witty, and wonderfully candid.
Hassan – Playing age 18
A confident sixth-form student from Wembley, brimming with youthful energy.
Please note: Hassan is from Syria, and the actor should look appropriately Middle Eastern.
Gemma – Playing age 30–40
A carer from Blackpool who doubts herself and often feels out of place, despite her talent.
Ben – Playing age 30–50
A widowed policeman raising his young daughter alone. Quiet, modest, and deeply heartfelt.
Lily – Playing age 9
Ben’s daughter.
This role will be cast at a later date — auditions are not required at the initial meeting.
🎶 Ensemble
Although the original show was written without an ensemble, our production will include 6–8 ensemble roles. Some will involve dancing, others portraying sound crew, producers, or make-up artists, and the ensemble will also assist with moving set in “plain sight.”
Ensemble members must be confident singing in harmony.
In order to audition, you must be available for all rehearsal and performance dates and be a member of our theatre.
We understand everyone has other commitments — all we ask for is enthusiasm, teamwork, and a love of theatre (and cake!).
Whether you’re keen to audition, interested in backstage, or simply curious to find out more, come along for a relaxed evening and see how you can be part of this joyful, feel-good musical.
No need to RSVP — just turn up and join us!
