Performance:
The workshop begins with our signature 10-minute roll-on-the-floor-laughing plays. The kids learn about the magic of theater through questions like, “Could you see the ball? Even though there wasn’t a real ball?” The performance also includes a modern adaptation of a classic sketch, monologues, and concludes with a surprise improv game!
Interaction:
Between each segment of the performance are engaging Q&A sessions. We build excitement among attendees while they build critical thinking skills. The Q&A includes our tried-and-true 5-minute Shakespeare lesson, after which the kids will be able to confidently answer the question, “Who was this guy and why is he so important?”
Participation:
Following the performance are countless volunteer opportunities to get on stage and display every aspect of theater, including acting, singing, lighting, sound, and stage management. Teamwork is exerted in full force when the workshop culminates in a demonstration of these aspects working in tandem. In short, participants put on The Great Big Little Play!
