Pecar Park will host a Great Backyard Bird Count – a global effort to help scientists better understand and protect birds around the world. Learn to identify and count birds at the park to help with this world-wide project.
Enjoy a guided bird walk, bird activities, crafts and interactive exhibits. Chat with birding experts and discover ways to get involved in local birding or attract and feed backyard birds. Enter the chance to win prizes from Wild Birds Unlimited!
Binoculars and field guides will be available to use or bring your own.
Schedule:
9-1pm: Bird crafts, touch tables, and activities
9-10am: Guided Bird Walk with Indiana Master Naturalist, Amanda Beals
10:30-11am: Suet Cake making ($2/craft, please register to guarantee a spot)
11:30-12:30pm: Birding for Beginners Scavenger Hunt
12:30pm: Raffle Prize Winners Announced
