2026–2027 Mid-Term Ballet Examinations Schedule & Important Information
Friday & Saturday November 20-21, 2026
Dear Parents and Students,
We would like to inform you that The Grand Academy of Ballet will conduct its annual Mid-Term Ballet Examinations on Saturday, November 21, 2026 for students enrolled in our Pre-Professional Ballet Program.
Our academy follows the internationally recognized Vaganova Method of classical ballet training, emphasizing proper technique, discipline, musicality, coordination, strength, flexibility, and artistic development.
Purpose of the Examinations
Mid-Term Examinations are an important part of our structured ballet education program. They allow our faculty to evaluate each student's progress since the beginning of the academic year and identify areas requiring additional attention.
Students will be evaluated on:
Classical Ballet Technique: Proper posture, body alignment, turnout, and placement.
Barre and Center Work: Technical accuracy, coordination, balance, and control.
Musicality: Understanding of rhythm, timing, and musical interpretation.
Strength and Flexibility: Physical conditioning appropriate to each student's level.
Artistic Expression: Presentation, grace, and quality of movement.
Discipline and Progress: Focus, preparation, and overall development.
Examinations will be conducted according to each student's assigned ballet level and the technical requirements of the Vaganova syllabus.

4:00 PM - Level 2-3 Encino Campus
5:00 PM - Level 4/5A Encino Campus
6:00 PM - Level 5-6 Encino Campus
7:00 PM - Level 4B Encino Campus
Saturday, November 21, 2026
10 AM - Level 1A Encino Campus
11 AM - Level 2-3 Pasadena Campus
12 PM - Level 5-6 Pasadena Campus
Exam Location: The Grand Academy of Ballet – Encino
Individual examination times and level assignments will be announced separately.
👗 Required Examination Dress Code
All students must arrive properly groomed and dressed in the academy's examination attire that was assigned for each class.
Students should arrive early to allow sufficient time to prepare and warm up.
Attendance Is Mandatory!!!!
All Pre-Professional Ballet students are required to participate in their scheduled Mid-Term Examination.
Examinations are an essential component of our academy's educational program and provide valuable insight into each dancer's technical and artistic development.
Regular class attendance leading up to the examinations is especially important. We encourage all families to ensure their children attend every scheduled ballet class and arrive on time.
The examination results will help our faculty establish individual training goals for the remainder of the academic year and prepare students for their Final Ballet Examinations on May 28–29, 2027.
We are proud of the dedication and progress our students have demonstrated this season and look forward to seeing their continued development.
