Join The Write Place for a three-part grammar workshop series designed to help you strengthen your academic writing skills.
Whether you want to improve sentence clarity, avoid common English grammar errors, or build confidence in your writing, this series will offer practical strategies and guided practice you can apply to your course writing assignments!
📍Room KC119 (Located in the Student Life Centre)

October 1 – Part 1: Subject-Verb Agreement. A focused session on subject-verb agreement and how it affects sentence clarity. Students will learn how to identify subjects and verbs, recognize common agreement errors, and revise sentences for practice.
October 22 – Part 2: Clauses & Fragments. A focused session on understanding independent clauses, dependent clauses, and sentence fragments. Students will practice identifying incomplete sentences, combining ideas effectively, and revising fragments into complete sentences.
October 29 – Part 3: Comma Splices & Run-Ons. A focused session on identifying and correcting comma splice errors and run-on sentences. Students will learn strategies for joining ideas correctly using punctuation, conjunctions, and sentence separation.
Come practice, ask questions, and build confidence in your writing, one sentence at a time!
