The crimes you are about to read have all been specially committed for this programme.This is the world premiere of SillyBilly Productions, who jump for joy to present to you all its world first rendition of The Goon Show, written by Spike Milligan.
Led by director Harry Almey, and produced by Jordan Wichman, we have one aim: sheer, unbridled, heavily complicated fun. To this end, there is only one possibility: The Goon Show!
Written by Spike Milligan — author of Badjelly the Witch — the BBC radio show ruled the airwaves. Having inspired Monty Python and many much more, comedy owes the Goons a great debt.
This show is a homage to those geniuses.
Set in a BBC recording studio, this stage adaptation treats the audience to a live studio performance of the radio show. But with these wacky characters bending reality, things are bound to get silly!
Two for the price of one, that's our motto! Having twice directed Goon Show scripts at the workshop level, SillyBilly Productions is upping its game. The show comprises The Dreaded Battered Pudding Hurler (of Bexhill-on-Sea) and Ye Bandit of Sherwood Forrest, separated by an intermission. A double bill that would be criminal to miss.
