The Golf Swing and Movement Science

Join fellow golfers from Bend and beyond for a presentation that explores the connection between body movement and the efficiency of a golfer’s swing.
Through discussion and demonstrations, you'll learn how to improve your swing, avoid injury and understand when to seek treatment

Presenter Peter Schrey, a physical therapist and assistant professor in OSU-Cascades’ Doctor of Physical Therapy program, and Michael Hernandez, a graduate of the DPT program with certification from the Titleist Performance Institute, will share and demonstrate the foundational concepts of TPI, an organization dedicated to the study of how the human body performs in relation to the golf swing.

About the Presenters

Peter Schrey, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS
A clinical assistant professor in OSU-Cascades' Doctor of Physical Therapy program, Peter Schrey’s physical therapy career has been devoted to orthopedics and sports therapy. He is certified in orthopedics, and strength and conditioning, and has volunteered with sports medicine teams that supported athletes during U.S. Olympic Trials and at world athletic championships. He received a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Regis University.

Michael Hernandez, PT, DPT, TPI, CF-L1
Michael Hernandez served as a medic with the Army National Guard for five years before becoming a Crossfit trainer in 2018. He earned his undergraduate degree in kinesiology and Doctor of Physical Therapy from OSU-Cascades, and is co-owner of PhysioFIT, a physical therapy clinic in Bend.
Loryn Studer, PT, DPT works at Academy West and focuses on breathing and performance.

Caitlin Sears works at Therapy Works and specializes in back pain and yoga.
