KellyFit is proud to present The Golden Fit, a series of three free Strength & Balance classes as part of the Golden Festival. Led by Kelly McCormack, founder of The Kelly Fit, these welcoming sessions are designed specifically for older adults and focus on improving strength, balance, mobility and confidence in everyday movement. Exercises are easy to follow and can be adapted to suit different fitness and mobility levels.
Classes will run from 9:00am to 9:30am, followed by a complimentary morning tea from 9:30am to 10:15am.
The morning tea provides a relaxed opportunity for participants to connect with others, build friendships and enjoy being part of their local community.
The Golden Fit is about more than exercise - it's about supporting older adults to stay active, independent, socially connected and confident.
ACCESSIBILITY
Designed specifically for older adults and suitable for a range of fitness and mobility levels.
-Exercises can be adapted to suit individual abilities.
-No previous exercise experience is required.
-Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace.
-A complimentary morning tea follows each class to encourage social connection and participation.
-Accessible footpaths and wheelchair-accessible toilets are available at Gribblehirst Park.
-Two accessible mobility parking spaces are available near the Community Hub.
Mobility parking and drop-off: There are no designated mobility parking spaces on Begbie Place itself.
For participants who require mobility parking and cannot manage stairs, a driver can drop the participant at the end of Begbie Place to access the flat path and direct ramp entry. The driver can then park in one of the dedicated accessible parks near the Community Hub, accessed via Sandringham Road and Cabbage Tree Swamp Drive.
