A hybrid event - in-person and livestreamed - details below:Raised as a small boy in the "secret society" of Britain's 1950's LGBT scene, The Godmother and Other Legends is Garner's debut storytelling show.
After 50 years of writing, directing and producing theatre Julian finds himself on the road alone with just a small backpack and a head full of stories. Part memoir, part social history, this show drills into the source material of his formative years. As he spins these personal legends, we meet these characters in a new light, and Julian finds new perspectives on those who went to great lengths to raise him into who he turned out to be rather than someone else."
Julian is an award-winning British playwright living in Finland since 1998. His plays have been widely performed in Europe, North America and beyond. He also directs, focussing on the work of new and emerging playwrights.
Also check out Julians's WORKSHOP! Running on Thursday 20th Novemeber, Julian will be spending a day exploring the craft of finding and shaping personal and family stories in a training opportunity created just for Beeston Tales.
