Join us on June 15 & 16, 2026 for two unforgettable days of music, movement, culture, community, and celebration as The Global Kickoff transforms Sankofa Square into a vibrant gathering place for the African diaspora and its allies.
Inspired by the spirit of Sankofa—an Akan principle often translated as "go back and get it"—this festival celebrates the power of honouring our roots while creating new pathways forward. Through live performances, cultural experiences, food, storytelling, and community connection, we invite people of all backgrounds to come together and experience the richness, diversity, and creativity of the global African community.
