The Children’s Heart Foundation is the country’s leading organization solely dedicated to funding Congenital Heart Defect research. Congenital Heart Defects are Americas most common birth defect, affecting nearly 40,000 babies every year, or 1 baby every 15 minutes. The Children’s Heart Foundation's mission is to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenial heart defects by funding the most promising research.
Here are the facts:
- Congenial Heart Defects occur in 1 in 110 births every year, new diagnoses of cancer are made in 1 in 6,024 children and teens annually.
- There are 2-3 Million Children and Adults living with CHDs in the US
- Death rates from CHDs have dropped by 37.5% since 1999. This means that children and adults with CHDs are living longer lives due to research and donations!
