A Legacy of Excellence
The Glengarry Pipe Band has recently seen exponential growth. This event kicks off the band’s drive to raise $200,000 over the next 18 months.
Since its official formation in 1961—born from the vision of the Clan MacLeod Society of Glengarry—the band has operated without interruption. From its early days under Pipe Major Gordon Kippen and instructor Connie Blaney (Kippen), the "Glengarry Highlanders" have grown from a local duty band into a premier competitive force.
The association has grown exponentially in recent years. Today, the GPB boasts over 100 members across four competitive grades and has seen leadership from some of the most accomplished pipers in the world.
The 65th Reunion isn't just a look back—it's a leap forward. The event will serve as a primary fundraiser for the recently established Glengarry Juvenile Pipe Band. This initiative is led by piping instructor Jacob Dicker and drumming instructor Scott Currie, with support from additional instructors and parents.
This ensemble provides young musicians with the elite training required to compete at the highest levels. The band has quickly grown to 35 members and has set its sights on local contests this summer, with the goal of attending the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2027.
