The Gladstones- Long ago in a distant galaxy, Bob Girard toured the East Coast in the estimable Charlottesville band, The Casuals featuring Johnny Sportcoat. The band dissolved, Bob got a job, had kids, the whole nine yards. A few years back, Bob got run over by a bus in Rome, started playing guitar as therapy for his shattered arm, and began to write songs again at an incredible rate. The Gladstones were born.
- Bob enlisted his long-time friend Charlie Pastorfield (Skip Castro Band, The Believers) to play guitar in his new band, then assembled a smoking-hot rhythm section with Jim Ralston (Baaba Seth) on drums and Tim Ryan (Kingdom of Mustang) on bass.
- The Gladstones play straight, old school rock ‘n’ roll of every variety, ranging from Johnny Cash to The Clash, from Gene Vincent to the Grateful Dead. They mix in a bunch of their own songs, penned by Girard and Pastorfield, that fit right into the general mayhem.
Kingdom Of Mustang
- Kingdom of Mustang is a musical collaboration of seasoned musicians from Charlottesville, VA who came together in 2016 to make original music in the vein of The Beatles, Big Star and Badfinger. They specialize in catchy songs with vibrant guitars and rich harmonies crafted around melodies that get stuck in your head. [www.kingdomofmustang.com]
- Built on the songwriting of Mark Roebuck [guitar], of The Deal, Big Circle and Sub-Seven, and Tim Ryan [bass] of Left Lane, Jeebus and The Gladstones, the band also features Rusty Speidel [guitar] of SGGL and Big Circle and Michael Clarke [drums] of Left Lane and The Deal rounding out the quartet.
