“The Gilded Age of Ormond Beach” by Alice R. & Ronald L. Howell

This lecture profiles the monumental task early pioneers encountered here in the unsettled wilderness along the Halifax River in the late 1880s, and chronicles the visionary men - John Anderson, Joseph Price and John Andrew Bostrom - who helped shape Ormond Beach’s “Gilded Age" era.

𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔: Ron and Alice Howell are reenactors, historians, and authors who have dedicated more than 30 years to researching and documenting the rich and profound history of Ormond Beach. The couple has written and self-published over a dozen local history books and served on several local historical organizations. Their presentations include historical memorabilia and well-researched facts, along with an assortment of film clips, flip-book shorts, and historical experiences.
