Over the last million years, Maine has several times been covered by a mile of ice. It gouged the rock, grinding it into gravel, sand, silt and clay to give us our wide variety of soils.
Presenter:
Peter Garrett, retired hydro-geologist, will give you the Big Picture of how Maine came to be. Come prepared to take all this in, complete with maps, photos and samples.
