Workshop Title: Gender Apartheid & Advocacy Workshop
Date & Time: Friday, March 28 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: University of Toronto (St. George Campus) at OISE Room C-154
This important workshop will bring together youth, activists, and policymakers to explore the ongoing struggle for Afghan women and girls under a regime that enforces gender apartheid. As part of this session, we will focus on key aspects such as understanding gender apartheid, international human rights frameworks, and advocacy strategies that can drive meaningful change.
Key Objectives:
- Define and explain gender apartheid and its implications for human rights.
- Introduce key international treaties and conventions that address gender-based discrimination.
- Equip participants with advocacy tools and strategies to support efforts to codify gender apartheid as a crime against humanity.
- Foster engaging and thought-provoking discussions to build momentum for this cause.
- Reflect on the Dear World Letters from Afghan women and gain insights from their lived experiences.
- Distribute advocacy toolkits to empower youth to take action.
We hope to see you there and look forward to working together to amplify our collective efforts.
