Aġenzija Sapport Sharing Lives Service is organising an art exhibition by the name of “The Gallery of Heroes”, showcasing artistic creation by its members part of The Hero in Us project. The exhibition is being held with the support of Heritage Malta.The Hero in Us project was designed and led by Alma Kadic, a European Solidarity Corps volunteer within the Sharing Lives service.
What does it mean to be a hero? 🦸🏼
The exhibition “The Gallery of Heroes” invites you to explore this question through the eyes and creativity of members from the Sharing Lives Service.
Through photography, paintings, drawings, pottery, and even a comic book, participants challenge the traditional idea of heroism celebrating strength, imperfection, identity, and courage.
The artworks at the exhibition are presented across four themes:
◾ Volunteering as Heroism – Small acts of care as meaningful contributions
◾ Flawed but Real Heroes – Honoring imperfection and growth
◾ Multiple Sides to Every Story – Challenging traditional heroic narratives
◾ Redefining Heroism – Identity, courage, and the reimagining of self-worth
The Hero in Us is more than a project, it’s a story of lived experiences, creativity, and personal growth. It offers a rare opportunity to see Malta’s cultural heritage and everyday heroism through the unique perspective of persons with disabilities.
