How Gen Z is redefining work, using traditional jobs to build skills, social capital and entrepreneurial pathways.
About this Event

Gen Z is now entering the workforce amid a major shift and has to think differently about how career development is formed. Gaining an understanding of this generation’s perspective on work is crucial to fostering a workforce in which young professionals can succeed.

Join us for a dynamic conversation with Ymorah Blakeney, Founder of The Up & Coming, as she explores how Gen Z is navigating the intersection of traditional employment and entrepreneurial ambition. Drawing from her own experience participating in a leadership accelerator program while building a business from the ground up, Ymorah will share how many young professionals are using the 9-to-5 not as a limitation, but as a launchpad for skill-building, relationship-building and long-term economic mobility.

This session will help attendees better understand how Gen Z views work, career growth, financial independence and purpose. It will also offer insight into how employers can engage the next generation of talent by recognizing their entrepreneurial mindset, desire for ownership and interest in building careers that align with both stability and calling.
