About this Event
The Free Black Women's Library is a literary hub, social site, Black Feminist archive, and community care space that features over 5000 books by Black women and Black non-binary folks, as well as a wide range of free public programs, special events, and creative workshops, a free store, a period pantry, a backyard garden, a virtual reading club, and weekly book swap.
Each month we curate and create programs that explore specific themes and topics.

Printmaking Techniques/An Intro to Drypoint
led by artist and priofessor Jazmine Catasus
3PM - 5PM
All are welcome to join us for this hands on introductory workshop to the printmaking technique, know as drypoint. Participants are invited to bring an image that is 4 by 6 or smaller to make a unique art print intaglio style.
Come ready to explore this new craft, get creative and explore your artistic side with us!
Facilitators Bio:
Jazmine Catasús is an artist and educator primarily working with print and papermaking. Her practice is concerned with the intersections of ornamentation, materiality, religo-aesthetics, and Black Subjectivity. She holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the Artistic Director/Master Printer at EFA-Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop and a visiting professor at Pratt Institute.
