The Four Winds Quest is a puzzling adventure that takes the idea of an escape room and adds the community festival atmosphere of the Winter Carnival. Should you accept the quest, you'll be invited to the party on Saturday, February 1st.In the first room you'll be greeted by four puzzles, one for each of the four winds. Wander around and work on them at your leisure. Other people will be working on them too and we encourage people to work together as the puzzles are designed to be collaborative.
When you solve a puzzle, it will give you the information you need to solve a second puzzle in the next room. Do the same for all four puzzles and you will have what you need to solve the final quest posed by King Boreas himself. If you do that, you'll win a special commemorative deck of Winter Carnival playing cards.
While you work on the puzzles, you may wander about freely. We'll also have soup and some hot beverages for you if you want to take a break while you ponder the puzzles. Our doors open at noon and you can start any time between then and 5pm. There is no timer involved so just have fun with it.
This event takes place at the St. Paul Masonic Center at 200 E. Plato Blvd, just across the river from downtown. There is free parking in the adjacent lodge and also on Plato (but not Eva). The cost is $20/person which includes the puzzles, prizes, soup, and beverages.
This event is modeled on another one we do every summer at a convention and people always have a lot of fun with it (some even go to the convention just for this!) But this version will be on a larger scale and so we're hoping will be even more fun!
