About this Event
Dr. Rachel Meredith Kousser, Professor of Greek and Roman Art and Archaeology at Brooklyn College and the Graduate Center, author of Alexander at the End of the World: The Forgotten Final Years of Alexander the Great, discusses Alexander’s storied greatness, drawing on exciting new research and integrating diverse perspectives to show this larger-than-life figure as never before. Born July 356 BCE, student of the famed philosopher-teacher Aristotle, Alexander the Great’s military conquests of the entire Greek work took him to Persia, Egypt, and India with a brief foray to Troy in homage of Achilles’ genius before dying at age 32 in Babylon. Professor Kousser additionally offers a behind-the-scenes look at her research process, key discoveries, and writing journey. Books available for purchase.
