Join us at The Folk School to create in a community of common interests. All types of portable, quiet crafts are welcome – this could be knitting, drawing, beading, carving, etc.Craft Night meets at the Workshop, located in the north-west corner of Pioneer Park past the playground, Look for the long white and blue building! For more direction info visit https://folk.school/venues/pioneer-park-work-shop/
This is an unstructured evening, with no direct instruction or expectation of guidance, other than to learn by watching and sharing. These evenings will be restricted to handwork so we can all enjoy conversation (please do not bring a craft that requires power tools or hammering).
Participants should bring their own materials, project, and tools. We will supply things like chopping blocks, benches with vices, shaving horses, bowl benches, saws and a limited number of simple carving tools, for those who want to whittle or carve.
There will be a short sharing session during the first 15 minutes. A participant will talk about their craft – it could be sharing a technique, tools, show and tell, etc. If you are interested in sharing, please let us know.
Folks are welcome to bring food or drink to share, but it is not a requirement.
Age range: 18 and up (under 18 welcome if accompanied by parent or guardian)
Prerequisites: none
Cost: Suggested donation: $5
Materials: Participants should bring their own materials, project and tools. We will supply things like chopping blocks, benches with vices, shaving horses, bowl benches, saws and a limited number of simple carving tools.
