The Flem - Progeny 40th Reunion

In 1986 when we were too young to play in licensed venues we hired a hall in Laurel Bank Park, Toowoomba and invited all our friends along to hear bands play. It was 1985. The Flem and The Plastic Popper Beads played and much fun was had. The Flem went on to play a number of events including St Mary’s school social, a few house parties and the Valedictory after party for the Downlands year 12 school leavers at Railway Hall in Toowoomba. Again much fun was had.
40 years later on the eve of the 40th reunion of the 1986 Downlands school reunion and the annual Downlands Grammar Football event where many reunite and friends and family catch up we have decided to present a showcase of music that has since been composed, produced and performed by members of The Flem.
Founding members Paul Keutmann, Gerrard and Brendan Canavan all at Downlands in 1986 along with James Roach, Terry Green from St Mary’s and Dave Rossington from Centenary Heights played in The Flem.
A playlist of original music from over the last 40 years from band members will be presented on a high quality sound system and there will be live performances by 2 bands. The Crow Tree with founding member Dave Rossington (bass player from the Flem) are getting radio play overseas and locally and also performing in Brisbane and surrounds.
“Playing with Ghosts” with brothers Gerard and Brendan Canavan (singer and lead guitarist of The Flem) have recently finished recoding a 10 track album and will be accompanied on drums by Martin Wiseman also a graduate of Downlands in 1986.
Music of both bands can be listened to on the included web links.
