Jazz drummer Dana Fitzsimons attended Ithaca College School of Music where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree. He has performed with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, pianist Harris Simon, legendary New Orleans vocalist Leigh “Little Queenie” Harris, 1920s jazz and hot swing group The Hot Club of Atlanta, and many more. His critically acclaimed first album as a leader, The Cheap Ensemble (2017), with saxophonist Chris Otts and guitarist Patrick Arthur, was played on over 175 jazz radio stations and spent 13 straight weeks on the Jazz Week radio charts. His follow-up album, Fault Lines (2022), with pianist Bill Graham and bassist Brandon Boone, was on the Top 20 contemporary jazz chart for 37 weeks (peaking as the #5 Contemporary Jazz album and the #6 album by a Georgia artist across all musical styles) and was one of Roots Music Report's Top 50 contemporary jazz albums for 2023. Dana’s recordings have been streamed over 230,000 times on Spotify and enjoy over 2,000 monthly listeners. They are available on all streaming platforms.
