-Legends ARE permitted (and highly encouraged)
-Please have your list to hand- on an app is fine
-Please bring all gaming accessories you require- dice, measuring tapes etc
-There will be a lunch break but lunch will NOT be provided.
WHAT IS NARRATIVE?
Narrative events mean different things to different players, but in my mind it’s an event where deciding who won the game is hopefully the least interesting thing that happens in the game.
For this event you will be split into two factions: Defenders & Despoilers. For each game you will have two missions; the battlefield objective and the faction objective.
Battlefield objective- this is the mission on the table- it will be visible to both players and will be how you score primary as in a normal game.
Faction objective- this will be sent to you by high command during the game and should only be revealed to your opponent when you complete it so they can confirm you have completed it.
There are two levels of faction objective- objective completed and objective dominated.
While completing a faction objective will not help you win the game it will help your faction as a whole, so even defeat in battle can bring victory in the wider war!
A NOTE ON BALANCE
The way I plan to run this event will not lead to a competitive tournament level of ‘balance’ things can and will happen to turn the tides of a battle completely out of your control and your high commands will always be watching and may reward promising generals, or punish those found wanting.
