A panel discussion featuring industry heavyweights on what it takes to run a fashion brand.
About this Event

To celebrate the launch of iconic British fashion designer Keanan Duffty’s new book, we’re hosting a fashion leaders panel discussion, featuring influential figures from the worlds of fashion, marketing and branding.

Join us on Tuesday 19 November to hear the panel of industry insiders, who are all featured in Keanan’s book, discuss what it takes to run a successful fashion business.

The panel:

  • Keanan Duffty, fashion designer and educator
  • Jenny Packham, Creative Director
  • Raoul Shah, CEO and Founder, Exposure
  • Julian Vogel, Partner ModusBPCM

The discussion will be chaired by Hywel Davies, Dean of M School (Fashion, Textiles, Jewellery and Materials) at CSM.

About the book:

is a five-part guide to operating a successful fashion business. It covers everything tomorrow's fashion leaders need to know about managing, funding, marketing, branding and selling.

Led by the author's vision and packed with interviews from iconic figures in fashion, the book shows that despite all that is wrong with today's fashion system, there has never been a better time to be a visionary, game-changing fashion entrepreneur. Case study interviewees include designer Tommy Hilfiger and some of the biggest names in fashion marketing, publicity, brand collaboration and legal representation.

About the author:

Keanan Duffty is a British fashion designer, musician, and educator known for his bold, rebellious style. A graduate of BA Fashion at Central Saint Martins, Duffty launched his namesake fashion label after moving to New York in 1993. He has collaborated with Aveda, Dr. Martens, Reebok, Ben Sherman, Gwen Stefani and John Varvatos. Duffty famously dressed the Sex Pistols for their 2003 American tour and worked with David Bowie in 2007 on a collection for Target.

Duffty was the stylist for the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s 2016 tribute to Bowie, featuring Tilda Swinton and Michael C. Hall. Duffty is the author of the Rebel Rebel: Anti-Style and The Fashion Entrepreneur.

In education, Duffty created the Master's in Fashion Management program at Parsons School of Design and was its founding director. He became Dean of Fashion at Istituto Marangoni Miami and in 2024 joined the faculty of the University of Southern California’s Jimmy Iovine and Andre ‘Dr Dre’ Young Academy.
