Inspired by Mighty Empires and drawing from many other campaign rulesets including the General's Compendium, various scenario generators from White Dwarf and Citadel Journal in the early 2000's, the Mordheim character development charts and having access to a large variety of Dogs of War units, I spent the last three months writing up rules for a hex-based map campaign but with the fiddly turn-based Mighty Empires rules stripped out and a lot of emerging scenario narrative built into the tiles on which the battles take place instead.
The campaign is designed as a flexible monthly meetup format based on those who are present on the day. No make-up games will ever be required. There are no penalties for missing a month or two and players are also free to start the campaign at any later stage as Roaming Vagrants.
I don't really have an idea of whether an upper limit of players will be required (the main intent of this is so the approx 8 players who finished the slow grow with me can continue meeting up every month :) - probably wouldn't want many more than 12-14 for the map size I think), or even if anyone else is particularly interested in still playing 6th ed, but if you're keen to join just send me an email with your chosen faction to [email protected]. Most questions will be covered in the campaign doc (have a read thru - it's pretty comprehensive!) but I'm happy to answer anything that is unclear.
Every round will be held at 10:30am on Sundays approximately monthly at House of War with the initial rounds scheduled for 22nd September, 20th October, 24th November and 29th December. Players will ideally have access to about 2500 points of troops, with all other mercenaries and NPCs being supplied by myself. Armies based for ToW are fine to play.
Cost to play is $5 paid to House of War when you arrive at the start of each round. I'll have several printed copies of the Campaign Book available for player reference.
The Campaign Book may be subject to minor alterations from time to time depending on feedback as the campaign progresses.
