In overwhelming times, it can be tempting to turn away, shut down, or believe our small actions do not matter. Louise Jett will reflect on attention, dignity, and shared responsibility as Humanist practices that help us remain connected to ourselves, one another, and the world.
Drawing from Ethical Culture’s commitment to bringing out the best in each person, this talk explores how we can stay awake to suffering without losing sight of beauty and how we can speak the truth without surrendering tenderness.
Louise Jett is a certified Ethical Culture Leader, writer, artist, and creative director whose work centers on dignity, belonging, and shared human flourishing. She serves as Creative Director for the Ethical Society of St. Louis and is a member of the American Ethical Union Board. Louise is also the Statewide Branding Manager for the State of Illinois, where she supports public service recruitment, storytelling, and accessible communications.
