Dr.Randi Pokladnik, environmental scientist, will present a program titled “The Environmental Impacts of Hyperscale Data Centers” at Dover Public Library on Wednesday, July 8 at 6:30 PM.
Dr. Pokladnik will talk about the steady increase of data centers in Ohio since 2010. Her presentation will address citizen concerns about how these centers will affect their communities. Some concerns include: power generation and usage, light pollution, air pollution and noise pollution, as well as the loss of rural lifestyles.
Dr. Randi Pokladnik has been an environmental activist in the Ohio River Valley for over 50 years. She is a retired research chemist and teacher who continues to serve the community by speaking and writing about issues that affect the Ohio Valley,
Pokladnik was named the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition’s Activist of the Year.
