Modern life doesn’t leave a lot of room for unscripted time.
The Elsewhere Room is a temporary haven built to bridge the gap between social hubs and quiet sanctuaries. Think of it as the ultimate living room -- a "third space" designed for adults who want a comfortable physical environment to unwind.
We love social gatherings, but we also love "solitude in public." You can bring a group of friends, chat with neighbors over a game of Mahjong, or put on headphones and read a book in a comfortable corner. Bringing your own activity is also encouraged!
When you arrive, you're welcome to grab a small indicator for signaling that you’re open to meeting people or sharing a game. A bar with food and drinks is available in the space, but making a purchase is entirely optional.
Your entry ticket helps us cover our baseline setup costs and gives you the full run of the space. Once you are through the doors, every game, activity, and resource is fully available for you to use.
What your admission includes:
- The Video Den: Retro consoles (N64, GameCube), or choose a classic from our VHS collection.
- Listening Lounge: A vinyl record player with records and magazines where you can let your ears drift.
- Tabletop & Strategy: Board games, Mahjong, chess, classic playing cards, even Crokinole and a billiards table!
- Creative & Self-Care: A writing/journaling space stocked with blank paper, postcards, and stamps, plus adult coloring books and nail polish supplies.
- The Reading Nook: Books of all genres avaialble in this cozy nook. Alternatively, choose a manga or magazine and kick back.
- Fun Add-Ons: For a nominal fee, we offer a few experience boosters, such as stamps and postcard/letter mailing, a selection of scented candles for your corner!
Note: Grab your ticket, come as you are, and stay as long as you like.
