We’re thrilled to bring The Real People to the stunning setting of St George’s Church in Wigan for a special, intimate acoustic performance on February 7th. 🎶✨
Formed by brothers Tony and Chris Griffiths in 1988, The Real People are true pioneers of the 90s Britpop movement. They took the music scene by storm with hits like Window Pane, Open Up Your Mind, and the Top 40 single Believer, solidifying their place in music history.
Throughout their career, the band toured extensively, sharing stages with the likes of David Bowie, The Pixies, and Inspiral Carpets, and gracing festivals like Glastonbury. But their legacy goes beyond their own chart-topping tracks. The Real People played a crucial role in the early days of Oasis, recording the now-famous Live Demonstration Tape, which helped Oasis secure their first record deal. They even collaborated on Oasis classics like Supersonic and co-wrote the iconic B-side Rockin' Chair. 🎸🎤
