We only ask that you bring a new, unwrapped toy (for a 3rd grader) or make a monetary donation.
๐ญ๐ฌ๐ฌ% of the toys and donations will be given to the Carthage Police Department.
For several years, the Duke Mason Band has been involved in helping the Carthage Police Department provide toys to area children who may not otherwise receive a Christmas present. Several years ago, the band decided to perform an annual Christmas concert for the sole purpose of giving back. The concert is named in memory of Duke's father-in-law. Steve Benjamin was a well-known figure in the community. He was especially known for his love of Christmas. For many years, he would host โChristmas Open Houseโ at his home. Visitors from all over the 4-state area would come and tour his vast collection of Christmas decorations and memorabilia. The collection filled the entire basement of his house! Area schools often took field trips to show the students the beautiful Christmas collection. Now, part of this special Christmas collection will decorate the stage at the concert held in his memory.
(The Carthage Police department will host The Laverne Williams Children's Christmas Party. For over 40 years, the Carthage Police Department has hosted this Christmas party for area children that are having difficult times due to economic reasons. ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ฌ% of the donations from the Duke Mason Band Christmas Concert will go to the Carthage Police Department Children's Party)
