The Drops: Negative and Positive Space by Fredrick Goldstein & Carolyn A. Land
Inspired by a lifelong connection to nature, Carolyn’s mixed-media works celebrate the intricate patterns, textures, colors, and forms found in the natural world. For this exhibition, she incorporates metal “drops” created by sculptor Fred Goldstein, transforming these elemental forms into focal points within her layered collages. Combined with hand-dyed papers, fibers, and organic materials, the metal shapes become both visual anchors and symbolic connections to nature’s enduring beauty and complexity.
Fred Goldstein’s sculptural “drops” serve as both inspiration and collaboration, inviting viewers to consider how shape, form, and space interact across different artistic mediums. Together, the artists create a dialogue between metal and fiber, structure and texture, absence and presence.
Join us as these two artists explore how positive and negative space can shape our perception of the natural world and reveal beauty in both what is present and what is left behind.
