The Dramatic Instrument: One Week Acting Intensive July 27 - July 31
About this Event
Develop the emotional and physical tools behind compelling dramatic performance. Through movement, rehearsal, partnered scene work, Alba Method training, and on-camera sessions, you'll expand your expressive range while exploring how the same acting principles translate between stage and screen.
This immersive intensive is designed for actors who want dedicated time to develop emotional accessibility, physical awareness, and artistic freedom in a collaborative rehearsal environment. Working with a core group of actors throughout the week, you'll deepen your rehearsal process through movement, scene work, Alba Method training, and on-camera application, discovering what changes, what stays the same, and how to adapt your work for each medium.
Throughout the week, you'll:
Deepen your character work and rehearsal process.
Apply your work on camera while exploring how dramatic performance translates between stage and screen.
Train in the Alba Method to safely and reliably access emotional states.
Explore movement and physical awareness as acting tools.
Prepare scene work for performance in the Comedy to Tragedy Showcase.
The intensive concludes with a live performance in Act II of the Comedy to Tragedy Showcase, giving you the opportunity to share the work you've developed throughout the week with an audience. You'll leave with practical Alba Method tools, a deeper connection to your emotional and physical instrument, and greater confidence adapting your work for both live performance and the camera.
