About this Event
“Before me were no things created except eternal ones, and I endure eternal.”
— Dante, The Inferno, Canto III
Theopolis is excited to mark it's public launch with the inaugural exhibition, The Drama of the Soul.
Bringing together more than a dozen Ontario-based Catholic artists, the exhibition explores the existence, nature, and problems of the human soul. Drawing inspiration from Dante’s Divine Comedy and an artistic tradition that treats the soul as the protagonist of a drama beyond life, death, and time, this exhibition offers a response to a cultural moment marked by materialism, consumerism, and omnipresent technology, in which the reality of the soul is too easily overlooked or forgotten entirely.
