When love becomes obsession – and money still can’t buy what you want most...
✨ Just 10 days after its world premiere, The Doll (Lalka) arrives at CinEast – a sweeping, star-studded new adaptation of one of Poland’s most celebrated novels.
Set in the late 19th century, the film follows wealthy merchant Stanisław Wokulski, whose passionate pursuit of the beautiful and elusive aristocrat Izabela Łęcka draws him into a world of high society, ambition, rivalry and intrigue.
Alongside his loyal friend Ignacy Rzecki, Wokulski navigates a society where love, status and money rarely play by the same rules.
Epic in scale and emotionally charged, The Doll combines lavish sets and costumes, meticulous period detail and a stellar cast, including Andrzej Seweryn, our special guest at this year’s CinEast, and Krystyna Janda, our guest in 2019.
With the fifth-largest production budget in the history of Polish cinema, the film matches its emotional ambition with truly spectacular scale.
