✨ Get ready for a Sunday matinée with ShekBand (@shekband), the Kyiv-based family trio bringing together contemporary jazz, Ukrainian folk influences and an unmistakable energy of their own. 🎹🎻🥁
🎶 Pianist and harpist Anna Shekera, double bassist Artem Shekera and drummer and flautist Maksym Shekera have been making music together since 2015. Since then, they have won more than 50 international jazz awards and performed at festivals and venues across Europe, helping bring contemporary Ukrainian jazz to audiences far beyond the country’s borders.
✨ Their recent highlights include performances at Tremplin Jazz d’Avignon and Jazz in the Park Cluj-Napoca, alongside artists such as Ibrahim Maalouf, Robinson Khoury Daoud and Mammal Hands.

In 2026, ShekBand received the Ukrainian Jazz Prize, awarded by the Ukrainian Institute and Europe Jazz Network. Their debut album “The Inflatable Ram” (2022) was featured on Radio France’s Open Jazz, and the trio is now preparing their second album, continuing to explore jazz as a music of freedom while sharing contemporary Ukrainian culture with international audiences.
