A Friday night of fashion you’ve been waiting for. The editorial moment of Black Hollywood.

Step beyond the traditional runway and into THE DIRECTOR’S CUT, an intimate Friday-night experience celebrating the intersection of Black art, Black film and Black fashion.

For one night, the Spartanburg Art Museum becomes the set for a living fashion editorial—where cinema inspires the wardrobe, the gallery becomes the backdrop, and models become works of art.

This is not your traditional fashion show.

Three Stories. Three Designers. One Night.

Three distinct fashion presentations will interpret the visual language, style, culture and storytelling of Black cinema through original fashion, beauty and creative direction.

From past to present to future, each presentation will reveal a different cinematic world while celebrating the influence of Black creativity on fashion and visual culture.

🎬 BLACK CINEMA × FASHION

Experience three curated fashion stories inspired by the visual language and cultural influence of Black cinema.

Rather than recreating movie costumes, participating designers and creatives will offer their own interpretations through fashion, styling, hair, beauty, silhouette, texture and storytelling.

🖼️ LIVING FASHION INSTALLATIONS

The museum becomes part of the presentation.

Models will be presented as living works of art, creating editorial moments throughout the gallery rather than relying solely on a traditional runway format.

Fashion meets exhibition.

Cinema meets the canvas.

Each featured creative will transport guests into a different cinematic world.

The films remain a secret for now—but expect three dramatically different perspectives on Black style, identity, beauty, history and imagination.

Come dressed to be photographed.

Step onto the SBFW red carpet for an editorial-style arrival experience with photographers, videographers, media moments and official SBFW imagery.

Throughout the evening, experience cinematic visuals, fashion films, creative storytelling and imagery that further connect the worlds of fashion and filmmaking.

🎨 FASHION MEETS ART

Experience fashion surrounded by the atmosphere and artwork of the Spartanburg Art Museum as visual art becomes part of the evening’s creative conversation.

🎶 MUSIC + ATMOSPHERE

The soundtrack matters.

Music and live entertainment will help move guests through the different moods and cinematic chapters of the evening before transitioning into cocktails, conversation and mingling.

The Director’s Cut is part of the four-day Spartanburg Fashion Week experience celebrating fashion through the cinematic lens.

IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION

This is an immersive, gallery-style fashion experience. Portions of the evening may be standing and guests will be encouraged to move throughout the museum to experience different elements of the event.

Event programming, participating creatives and entertainment are subject to change.

Guests of all ages may attend. Guests must be at least 21 years of age to purchase or consume alcohol.

📸 OFFICIAL MEDIA PASS | APPLICATION REQUIRED

Official media credentials are available by application for approved photographers, videographers, journalists, bloggers, podcasters, influencers and content creators covering Spartanburg Fashion Week.

Approved credentials may include designated access to the SBFW red carpet, media/photo areas, designer and model interviews, select behind-the-scenes opportunities, fashion presentations and official SBFW media information.

Purchasing an event ticket does not guarantee media credentials. All media applications are subject to SBFW approval, and access levels may vary by event.
