The Dhoruba Collective has an exciting evening of music planned that is guaranteed to satisfy your aural cravings! In celebration of the end of black history month the show will elevate two amazing women, Aida Ade and Lynita Renea. Throughout the evening, the band will be traveling through many genres and styles while celebrating the ladies' original pieces and showcasing what has musically inspired them all as individuals. Come celebrate life and art at Joe's Cafe.

The Dhoruba Collective is a group of world class musicians led by international touring drummer Jeffery “Dhoruba” Hill. They mix their experiences and musical upbringings into exciting collage of sounds and feelings. They mix genres going from original music to covers. Dhoruba is originally from Kansas City Missouri. He is a community activist who was very focal in the Mike brown movement organizing and other movements in the country including George floyd and Tamir rice to name a few. He has refocused his physical faculties on music and is excited to share his experiences and message through art. Dhoruba has played for Grammy winning artist Bilal, as well as traveled the world with Osunlade, Tonina and Jesse Gannon and the truth. Dhoruba also currently plays drums for Blvck Spvde and the Cosmos, Georgia Mae, Darkwood, Sir Eddie C, Osunlade, Michael B Whit, Aida Ade, and Mvstermind.

Aida Ade is a singer/songwriter/producer based in St. Louis, Missouri. She is a trauma therapist and classically trained violist who has transitioned into the world of vocal music. With inspirations ranging from Nina Simone to Chaka Khan to Sade to Fall Out Boy to Chronixx, Aida displays a truly eclectic sound in each of her works. Her most recent release, "The Unbreakable Aida Ade" is an EP which embodies unique blending of her many musical influences as well as her mental health background.

Meet the sparkle behind the smile. Lynita Renea is a St Louis Native whose heart is filled with nothing but love and soul. Lynita has been singing and writing majority of her whole life. She grew up watching some of the greats like Anita Baker, Jill Scott, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and even family members perform and make beautiful music. Easily inspired, She picked up a keyboard and guitar and has never turned back. "Music is my life", Lynita says often. "It's how we communicate and express. It gets us through our days". Lynita currently has 4 projects out and many singles as well. She performed at one of the biggest festivals in St Louis Missouri, "STL Fest". While she loves collaborating with all the amazing local talent in St Louis, Lynita strives to show the world R&B will forever be alive and her footprint is very close to being next.
