About this Event
Ever dream of traveling west and painting in National Parks? Theresa Lannen, a member of The Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, spent 3 months traveling solo to visit 35 National and State Parks in 12 states. She spent that time “car camping” in her specially rigged Chevy Equinox. She visited Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
A Plein Aire painter, she took her oil paints, a standard French easel, and 40 prepped Masonite panels (12”x24”) in specially made boxes. She picked up some stone in Utah to carve later.
You are invited to come to the presentation of her artwork and listen to her anecdotes from this adventure.
This free presentation will be at 12pm on September 18th at the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 5437 West Jefferson Ave, Trenton, MI 48183.
