The Desert Community Orchestra presents "Christmas in Ridgecrest"

The Desert Community Orchestra performs its annual Christmas Concert “Christmas in Ridgecrest” in the Parker Performing Arts Center at Burroughs High School. Doors open at 6:30.The orchestra’s selections will include some favorite Christmas melodies including “The Christmas Song”, “White Christmas”, and “Sleigh Ride”; features Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “Christmas Overture” and Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker Suite”; and the finale, a Handel trifecta: “See, The Conqu’ring Hero Comes” and “March” from Judas Maccabaeus and the “Hallelujah Chorus” from The Messiah. The orchestra will be joined in the finale by the Ridgecrest Masterwork Chorale. Also featured in the concert will the The Ridgecrest Youth Symphony.As previously announced, the Desert Community Orchestra will have different guest conductors at each of the concerts this season. Maestro Caleb Yanez Glickman of Los Angeles will be the guest conductor for the Christmas concert. The previously published bio highlights many of his accomplishments.“I am thrilled to be conducting with the DCO for the first time, and so grateful for the warm welcome I have been given by this community,” states Glickman. “This concert is a holiday program full of musical gems, some of which you may know, and others you have likely never heard before. Come share in the holiday cheer with the Desert Community Orchestra this December 14th!”Concert general admission is $10, student/military $5, under 7 years and military in uniform free. Other concerts of the Desert Community Orchestra season will be the Winter Concert on March 8, 2025, and the Young Artist Concert on May 17, 2025.
