The Delay Unit (post-rock)

The Delay Unit are a Washington Post-Rock band founded in 2019 by Alex Deley (lead guitar)

and Mike Swidrak (synth/drum programming) after many late nights musing over Can and

Yellow Magic Orchestra with filled tumblers.) The duo practiced in a Takoma Park apartment

gym room and eventually evolved into a suburban basement-dwelling five piece, including

bassist Jack Vaughn (formerly of Chumpus Khan), drummer Aeryn Goldstein (Professor

Goldstein & the Adjuncts), and rhythm guitarist Devin Taylor (Knuckleberry Finn). They have

played several local record shops and ond house venue (Red Onion, The Record Exchange, Bump 'n' Grind, Dinosaur

World). The Delay Unit released its first single, Sakamotif, in Fall 2025 with more singles to be

released early in 2026 and a debut album in production.
