The Dark Sky Walk

Darkness, stars, whisky and a chance to look through big telescopes combine in Moffat. We will be taking a walk at night under a full moon around the only Dark Sky Town in the UK looking at the stars.

We will have the opportunity to visit the Moffat Community Observatory while stopping in at the new Moffat Distillery.

Apart from looking for stars we will discover what makes Moffat a Dark Sky Community. It is more than just being a dark place where you can see stars. You need a town with people who are interested in keeping it dark, who love stars and darkness.

You need businesses who see the need for low light pollution.

We will be seeing what the Moffat Distillery has done with its lights and having a wee taste of the whisky they make too.
