About this Event
In 2018 we embarked on a pilot program to expand Parkinson's specific education and services to underserved communities in Oregon. 2024 saw PRO staff fully resume these efforts with focused in-person education and support in several identified communities. We continue in 2025 with this event in The Dalles!
Basics and Beyond
Whether you were recently diagnosed, going through transitions as your symptoms change, or are a family member of someone with Parkinson's disease, this lecture will help you piece together an understanding of this complex neurological condition.
In this presentation of Basics and Beyond, Dr. John Herndon, Movement Disorders neurologist at Oregon Health & Science University, will provide a comprhensive overview of what Parkinson's is and how it is managed. Through this discussion, Dr. Herndon will equip you with the latest evidence-based knowledge on treatment options and best practices for working with your care team.
Dr. John Herndon was born in Dalton, Georgia and has lived in many parts of the East Coast. He completed his Neurology residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and his Movement Disorders fellowship at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He was previously in practice at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana and is currently at OHSU in Portland, Oregon.
