In this talk, Alex Thomas-Long - Earth Sciences New Zealand Analyst and Shift Leader at New Zealand's National Geohazards Monitoring Centre - pulls back the curtain on the forces constantly reshaping our landscape. With a BSc in Geology and over seven years of hands-on experience, Alex brings the technical and human side of geohazard monitoring to life.

We'll explore how scientists track earthquakes, volcanic activity, tsunamis and landslides in real time, what happens behind the scenes when a big one hits, and how this work helps build resilience for the people of Aotearoa.
