About this Event
Along with the immense contribution of crystallography to the advancement of science and technology, the very idea of crystal has transcended scientific thought to inspire the world of the arts, from literature to painting, from architecture to dance, and from music to cinema. This talk is a walk through the history of that influence and the aesthetic debates it has provoked, with the particular example of Federico García-Lorca (Poet in New York) and Salvador Dalí.
Speaker
Juan Manuel García-Ruiz, Ikerbasque Professor, Donostia International Physics Center, San Sebastian, Spain
