The Crybabies are a five piece all femme string band based out of New Orleans, focused on stacked harmonies and generalized roistering. A neo-traditional busking string band since 2018, the Crybabies got their start trying to project over the drunks on Frenchmen Street– the basis of their powerful yet tender sound.
They've mellowed slightly as they adjust to the wonderful world of indoors, playing gigs both regionally & nationally, while also holding down a varied and prolific presence throughout New Orleans– consistently hired for special events, house shows, venues on Frenchmen Street, the St. Claude corridor, and New Orleans festivals --including their debut at the 2024 Jazz Fest– but their hearts remain in the street.

Currently the Crybabies repertoire includes traditional 20’s-40’s jazz, blues, country, and a variety of soul, doowop, and pop classics, along with original songs written by each of the five bandmates.
