The Crooked Stuff stormed into the Crazy Horse back in January and staked its claim as one of the freshest new sounds we’ve heard here in years. This San Francisco outfit is a cross-pollinated hybrid of electronic rock, disco punk, heavy soul and sub-bumping beats. With threads of influential DNA from The Doors, Devo, Daft Punk, The Headhunters, Prodigy, Talking Heads and an array of other psychedelic synth-punk experiences — the trio’s (vocals, synths, drums) sound was born at a twisted intersection between the modern electronic and deep analog worlds. Having shared the stage with Tank & The Bangas, Fishbone, The Nth Power, Lyrics Born, Dumpstaphunk, Monophonics, and Papa Mali – The Crooked Stuff understand what it takes to continue their ascent into deeper space.
