About this Event
The Creatives Book Club - Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
A book club for creatives who want to read more (and talk about it).
We read books on the creative practice and meet up to share thoughts, swap perspectives, and keep each other motivated through friendly accountability and good conversation.
Who is it for?
You don’t need to be a pro, published, confident, or even sure what kind of creative you are.
If you like making things — or just thinking about making things — you’re welcome here.
Writers, crafters, doodlers, thespians, bakers, figuring it out-ers and curious readers all welcome.
Who will be there?
Going to a new event can be tough, so here’s one friendly face you’ll definitely see. I’m Hannah, I’ll be your host, and I’m an illustrator and bookworm from Warrington.
All my life I’ve read books and watched doccumentaries about artists I love, and I’m now building a community of people who want to do the same and have a friendly and thoughtful chat about it over a brew or a bevvy.
What's the agenda?
The event will last aorund 2 hours.
Initially we will spend 20 minuites getting settled, you will have time to order drinks and get yourself comfy.
Following this we will make time for low pressure introductions, then we will launch into some prepped questions to get us talking about the book, allowing time for free flowing chat for you to share your thoughts, discuss your own creative crafts and how the book might apply to you, and learn about our new friends creative practices.
Where will it take place?

Where can I get the book?
While the book isn't part of your event ticket, we encourage anyone who can to support their local library or independent bookshop.
If you don't have time to pop to your local bookstore, check out bookshop.org where lots of independent shops unite to deliver books speedily to your door while still supporting indie shops.
Second hand copies also make for a great option for affordability and lower enviromental impact.
Why is my ticket not free?
The cost of your creative book club ticket covers the time it takes to organise and prepare for the event. The creative book club event's are currently capped at 15 participants to keep the group to a friendly and sociable size.
